- Accumulators
- A single bet that links multiple selections; all must win for the bet to pay out.
- American Odds
- Odds displayed as a positive or negative number; positive shows profit on a $100 bet, negative shows amount needed to win $100.
- Arbitrage
- The practice of exploiting differences in odds across markets to secure risk‑free profit.
- Asian Handicap
- A handicap system that gives a half‑goal advantage to the underdog, removing the draw as a possible result.
- Back Betting
- Placing a bet in favor of an outcome, the standard bet you make with a bookmaker.
- Bankroll
- The total amount of money set aside for betting, separate from everyday finances.
- Bet Builder
- A feature that lets you combine multiple outcomes from the same match into a single custom bet.
- Bookmaker
- A company that sets odds and accepts bets on sporting events.
- Both Teams To Score
- A bet on whether each side will score at least one goal during the match.
- Cash Out
- A feature allowing you to settle a bet before the event ends, locking in a profit or limiting a loss.
- Correct Score
- A bet that requires predicting the exact final score of a match.
- Decimal Odds
- Odds expressed as a single number that includes the stake; the total return is stake multiplied by the decimal.
- Double Chance
- A bet that covers two of the three possible match outcomes (win, draw, loss) in one wager.
- Fractional Odds
- Odds shown as a fraction, indicating the profit relative to the stake (e.g., 5/1 means $5 profit for every $1 wagered).
- In-Play
- Betting that takes place after the match has started, with odds updating in real time.
- Kelly Criterion
- A mathematical formula used to determine the optimal size of a bet relative to your bankroll and edge.
- Lay Betting
- Betting against an outcome, such as a team losing, typically on a betting exchange.
- Moneyline
- A betting market where you simply pick which team will win the match, with odds reflecting each team's chance.
- Over/Under
- A bet on whether the total number of goals scored in a match will be higher or lower than a set line.
- Parlay
- Another term for an accumulator, where odds multiply across consecutive selections.
- Point Spread
- A handicap given to the underdog team to level the betting field, expressed as a number of goals.
- Stake
- The amount of money you place on a bet.
- Surebet
- A situation where odds from different bookmakers allow you to bet on all possible outcomes and guarantee a profit.
- Value Bet
- A bet where the odds offered are higher than the true probability of the outcome, giving an edge to the bettor.
- Vig
- The commission charged by a bookmaker built into the odds, also called juice, ensuring the bookmaker makes a profit.
